The Year 1 Team thought it might be useful for parents to have access to some resources to support handwriting, so please see some below.

This document is designed to support with the lead ins and lead outs from letters, which will help the children to transition from pre-cursive to cursive (joined) handwriting:

This is the line guide we use for our handwriting lessons at school. You can use it to write a word or letter for your child to practice repeatedly. Please note that descending letters such as ‘p’ and ‘q’ need to sit on the green (grass) and move downwards into the brown (soil) section. Ascending letters such as ‘d’ and ‘b’ need to sit on the green (grass) and move upwards into the blue (sky) section.

You can use your TWINKL Login to access the next few resources, for which you will need to click on the web addresses below:

Summer 2 – Home Learning

Next week, we would have sent home the home learning packs usually received by the children in advance of their half-term’s learning. Therefore, please see the attached pdf versions of the home learning booklets for Summer 2, as well as answers to all of the maths problems. Please note that you will have seen some of the home learning sheets before. Given the lock-down situation we have found ourselves in, the Year 1 team have decided to use Summer 2 as a time to revise and recap some of the key skills that the children have learnt over the year, in order to best prepare the children, for Year 2.

As usual, we would love to see the children’s completed learning, so please continue to send photos and photocopies of the children’s work, to Mrs Stock.
