The children have chosen their favourite stories, songs, games and activities to revisit next week. We will be celebrating the fantastic year we have had in Nursery by looking back at what we have learnt and how we have ‘grown’.
Congratulations to the following children who have received Class Teacher Awards this week for demonstrating the Avenue Values.
Busy Beetles: Sanganaa and Hiba
Fireflies: Anoushka and Rayan
Your child’s learning journey will be emailed out to you today. They are now password protected and you received your password earlier in the week. We hope you enjoy reading it and looking back over the progress they have made this year. If you have difficulties accessing the learning journey, please let us know in person next week.
Whole School Celebration Evening
On Monday 16th July we will be having our annual celebration evening between 3:30 – 5:30. This is an opportunity to take a look at your child’s work, see their current and new classroom as well as potentially meet their new teacher. There will be a variety of events taking place such as sports, musicians playing and singing, as well as activities within each classroom for you and your child to participate in.
The following events will be taking place…
Genius Time Presentation in the Great Hall 3:45 – 4:15. Work and pictures will remain displayed throughout the evening.
Sports on the field or playground:
- Mixed football – 3:30 – 4:00
- Hockey – 4:00 – 4:15
- Netball – 4:15 – 4:30
- Tag rugby – 4:30 – 4:45
Year 6 performing songs from Aladdin in the Studio Hall 4:00 – 4:20.
Musicians: There will be various Busking areas, marked out along the corridors, for children to entertain visitors. We will place timers in these areas so that there is ample opportunity for the musicians to perform. So if your child plays a musical instrument, then encourage them to bring it along for all to hear.

Due to the latest successes of the England football team in the World Cup, we have decided to have a World Cup themed mufti day. Children are invited to come to school on tomorrow wearing red and white. Children may wear an England football shirt but no other sports shirts are permitted e.g. Chelsea football top, England rugby top etc. The children can also show their support by coming to school with face paint, flags or any other items that they feel support England.
We invite you to make a donation, big or small, for your child to wear red and white. This money will go towards the renovations of our school swimming pool.
Next week our book of the week is Never Snap at a Bubble by Yvonne Winer. We will be learning a new poem about a turtle; making turtle crafts; learning about capacity by making potions and experimenting making fizzy colours. As part of the transition to Reception we will be talking about any worries and how to deal with them.
