This week’s learning

The children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring our new role play areas- a veterinary practice inside and a car wash outside. They have been getting into character and helping make the pets feel better!

To launch our new topic Water Water Everywhere, we began by reading the book The Rainbow Fish –  a story about a beautiful fish who learns that sharing and being kind makes him feel happy. We also found out interesting facts about different sea creatures,  for example,  dolphins whistle and click to communicate. In addition, the children  worked together to make paper chain tentacles for a giant octopus!   In mathematics we have started to learn the vocabulary of subtraction to work out how many are left.

Today we had Art Day and our focus was on Chinese Art. We looked at Chinese paintings of dragons and described what we could see and how they are all different. The children then made their own dragon puppets. Exhibitions will be held on the following days for parents to come and see the final world map:
