This week’s learning

As always we have had a fun and busy week at Nursery.  In PE, the children have been practising some events ready for their first sports day. The children have enjoyed listening to the story of ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’ and making their own objects for our ‘garden’ using salt dough. They also enjoyed getting a special letter from ‘Oliver’ asking the Nursery for help with his food shopping.  They worked as a team to get all the items on the shopping list and add them together.  Later on in the week we focused on what it means to be healthy. The children came up with lots of fantastic ideas e.g. dancing for exercise, brushing their teeth and eating lots of fruit/vegetables.  In our sound groups we met the hungry ‘Word Monster’, blending sounds to help find the right object to feed him.
